We knew it was going to be difficult on the school. He didn't have any enemies. And that's why it's been so hard on us. Everybody loved him.

I agree. I think that's something that should be added. Every school is different.

Eastern Kentucky was a suitcase college. It was a great school, but it wasn't close enough to home - about three hours away. We traveled a lot with the volleyball team, and that was nice. But in the fall and spring, the college was deserted on weekends. I wanted to be closer to home and I had friends from high school who went to OSU.

It just hit me again (yesterday) morning that he's gone. Charles was loved by everyone. It's been hard on all of us.

If I get a cell phone, I take the cell phone. The teachers determine an amount of days to keep it. It's not allowed and it's against policy, but I don't go looking for it...I just tell students to respect their teachers and not to turn their cell phones on.

I think that this is more real. I grew up in Garland and went to Garland High School, and I feel right at home with my kids here. I look at these kids like they are my kids. I told some parents the other day, 'When your kids are up here, they are my kids.' That the way I feel about it.
