We knew it would be tough. Missing some easy looks early cost us. (But) we fought.

To take a player like (Russell) out of the game hurt us. Her two backups are out for the season. We had five guards on the court. They gave us everything they could.

We played the way I hope we can play on a consistent basis.

She gives her heart and soul every moment she's on the court. The effort she gives on both ends is unparalleled. Not many kids play as hard as she does.

Jared did a tremendous job for us today. We feel good about our first five or six (pitchers). It's the other guys we love to get quality from and it happened today. Jared showed today what he shows us at times and it was nice to see.

It's been good for us, having a young team, to have those four hours. Lately, we've been moving from conditioning to more basketball. We spent some time together in the summer, and it's given us a great baseline.
