We learn about these things in elementary school, but as parents we can forget to be teaching our kids about it, too. This gives them an opportunity to act rather than wait idle.

Some parents don't always have the resources like a car, a phone or even a permanent home in case of an emergency. We will work with them to make a plan and know what to do.

It will help parents plan ahead for disasters.

This bill doesn't interfere with what parents teach their kids, but what it does do is prevent parent's from teaching somebody else's kid how to drink. One kid dies and a block away a family is having a party for their kid with drinking. What that couple did was outrageous.

We don't have high school graduates teaching our kids.
