We need a vibrant, strong work force to succeed. People are the lifeblood of business.

We have plenty of business in this area. The problem is finding the work force.

In business, it all comes down to the bottom line, and what they're realizing is that an overweight work force is hurting their bottom lines. They're looking at how weight problems affect time off of work and office visits and how those things affect health-care costs.

The governor's been very focused on making sure Ohio's high school students have the skills to succeed in the work force or if they choose to move on into college.

We came to the conclusion that [Mr. Stern] is a powerful force in the entertainment business and we thought that it was important to add him to our lineup.

The focus now is appropriations. Then we need transition to economic development and then work-force issues.
