We plan to offer one superior level every semester until we are able to add Italian IV. We weren't certain how many students would be interested, but the class filled to the capacity of 25 a few days after registration began.

Asian and Spanish students are usually the ones that have more trouble with English. In class I do not treat the students differently. What I do is to explain a lesson as many times as a student needs to. I have no problem with repeating what I am saying and being patient with these students.

We have been to other universities, and have observed that there is a growing interest in Italian. Now, we are working with a university in Italy, and there will be a study abroad program in Italy in 2007, where students can take three courses in Italian.

This is a knock-your-socks-off offer. I don't see how they could not deem it superior.

One of the best things is being able to share this with them. Space travel could offer a new niche for students in physical therapy and rehab work. It?s a huge need for NASA, and it will be great to expose them to that.
