We read some pretty moving s that string lines from torture to sexual and physical abuse. It resonates with you and you want to make a difference. It's hard; we live such privileged lives, (it's) hard to sit there and do nothing once you become aware.

There are a lot of excuses people would use for failing to get involved. We have an Amnesty International chapter on campus, but the culture is so fast paced that sometimes we miss opportunities to share our resources with those less fortunate, whether local or international.
