We scored early, but the bats kind of fell silent in the middle of the game. They take their baseball seriously. It was fun to go over there and play them.

We had a good approach and swung the bats well early in the game. I was concerned in the eighth and ninth when we got a runner to third with one out and couldn't get them in. You know those things will come back to haunt you, but it didn't tonight. This team (Fresno State) is very talented and every single guy is capable of hitting a home run here.

Boys, baseball is a game where you gotta have fun. You do that by winning.

I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. There are times I got on a roll but never for more than a few starts in a row. That's probably the most frustrating part.

We had a couple of bad innings. It's unfortunate because I think this is a game that we could have won.

It was beautiful weather. I told the guys before the game that this might be the best weather we see all spring. We had a lot of fun.
