We started Big Muddy Records because we felt that there was a lot of good music happening in St. Louis that needed exposure and support.

We were all very anxious and nervous about the conference actually happening, but once everything started going I felt that there was a lot of energy. It was really powerful for me to see how we were able to bring 160 students from all these schools and who were invested [in] and passionate about social justice and seeing things changed on their campuses.

I had to make a drastic change at Sun Records and I didn't really appreciate country music until I went there.

I wanted him to have a good game real bad. He felt bad shooting 0-for-12 against a big rival like that. But with him having a big game it's just great to see him get that Pitt game behind him and keep moving forward.

I felt real good. In the second half, I really started feeling like myself again. I had a lot of confidence. I can say I was 100 percent, to tell you the truth.

I felt like I just wanted to get back to Son Volt, after having done the solo records. I just began to miss the group dynamic. (Son Volt) has always kind of represented a vehicle for putting out a certain type of songs and songwriting.
