We tried to stress in our application that this is a small community with a lot of elderly citizens and there's not really much room for growth. Our financial status will pretty much stay the same, so we could really use some grant money.

We were a little upset over this, because it seemed that we were one of the front-runners from the beginning to get some of this money, and when it came down to giving it out, we didn't get any. We're hoping to get some answers sometime this month as to why we didn't get anything.

Intimacy and community buffer stress.

Our biggest problem has been trying not to put more stress on the community, particularly with regards to gasoline. We want to make sure we've got enough gas for chain saws and transportation.

I'm retired and don't want the stress. I ran because I wanted to help the community, but the people made their choice and we all have to suffer the consequences because of bad decisions that are made.

Where there is not community, trust, respect, ethical behavior are difficult for the young to learn and for the old to maintain.
