We want SAA, but we need to make sure our workers are protected and the strike is legal.

We are short somewhere between 290,000 and 350,000 IT workers, but no one knows for sure. It looks like it's both a shortage of people and a mismatch of skills in the marketplace that produce vacancies. But it doesn't matter what the cause is if you can't fill jobs that support income and revenue for your company -- the effect is there.

This important legislation addresses two harsh realities: an intolerably high percentage of the farm workers who plant and harvest our produce are undocumented - and they are the most poorly paid and poorly treated workers in the United States.

This is a very appropriate response by the two governments which will send immediate reassurance to the workers.
