We want to give every community as best a chance to come back as we can.

There's no question there's going to be shrinkage. People don't want to hear that.

I think we all believed there would be more happening than is happening right now. One of the key problems is jobs. You look at the housing situation, and the schools situation, and you wonder where businesses are going to find the people they desperately need to get things going.

As a practical matter, these poor folks don't have the resources to go back to our city just like they didn't have the resources to get out of our city. So we won't get all those folks back. That's just a fact. It's not what I want, it's just a fact.

The most significant and poignant part of the event is it's our chance every year for the entire synagogue community, federation community and general community to come together for one magnificent day at one magnificent event.

This is a chance for the community who want to do something.
