We wanted to give these kids a chance to be part of something, to make a difference. And that's what this is.

We're just starting to get a total count of how many kids are participating. We're hoping for around 400.

It is a chance for farm, non-farm and city kids to mingle. It is just a good event for kids. The kids come back and remember the livestock show. It was significant in their growing up process. That indicates to me that they learned something from it.

Having them makes everything easier. They get us second-chance points, they block shots and they bring a lot of heart.

We can't just be players. We have to continue to grow the sport, and it starts with the kids.

We've tried to make the evening informative and fun too.
