We wanted to go out and help the people, but it was too life-threatening.

You met them, and in minutes you felt like you knew them your whole life.

People walking on the streets looked dazed; the officers looked dazed. Then we heard gunshots.

They said, don't open your doors for anyone.

I know we've done a lot to help the people out there and give them some hope, but honestly, I think I've benefited more than them. It's really been life changing.

I just wish more people could have this experience of helping someone who really needs the help so much. It's so rewarding, I would do it over in a heartbeat.
