We wanted to tell these stories ... and give people a quick way to read about black history. Hopefully it will inspire people to read and research.

It was not a commercial piece. It was an in-kind for people who wanted a piece of history. They want a part of Mrs. Parks.

People are trapped in history and history is trapped in them.

There is a long history of people gathering in the same spot at the same time every week, or after work. A new guy could come in and see what the latest news was and what's going on in sports. Before people had TV and telephones it was one of the only meeting places we had; one of the only places to go and get local news.
