We were absolutely determined to keep our Jewish kids together.

It's a good feeling to know we set an example for people when we (established) our congregation all those years ago. We're proud of what we did, and everything the community did for us. It was a time of real sharing in those days, when we started from scratch.

It was amazing. We had Christian contractors and other businesses donating their time. It really was an ecumenical effort.

It was an exciting time for all of us.

So few fairs have areas where kids can spend hours and be entertained.

I was so ecstatic. I couldn't wait to tell these kids.
