We were in it up until the second half when we gave the penalty away. At this level you cannot make elementary mistakes like that.

We just gave up too many points in the first half. The second half we just wanted to come out and pressure them.

If we had a 10- or 12-point lead, then we could have withstood a run in the second half. But that didn't happen.

We had a very good first half, got careless in the second, but in fairness to Portsmouth they never gave in.

Overall, I was pleased. [I'm] just disappointed we didn't put it away in the second half when we had the opportunity to, and then we were a little bit on edge in the last few minutes. We did a lot of good stuff -- good passing and good movement.

Engines were calibrated so if you gave up one second of 0-to-60-performance and gained a half-mile-per-gallon in fuel economy, you would make that trade-off every day. Cars were just awful.
