We were just a call or a play away (from winning). We took the No. 2 team (in Class 4A) to the wire.

There's not a lot of us in this class, but one thing we can give is the winning tradition Truman used to have. We could bring it back for these young guys. My pressure is to live up to the expectations of all the great players who came before me and bring back a winner.

Looking down at a good hand is a great feeling. And winning money is good, too.

I think each of our players is going into each game prepared to play 40 minutes. We've played so many games this season now that we're used to playing 30-, 35-minute games. It just comes out as a natural adjustment for us.

They left it all for this program and left a lot for other kids to model.

We've just got to make better plays at the end, and we've got to defend better in the future.
