We work with women and young people to empower them to increase their health, employment opportunities and education.

We have a group of women who volunteer who don't have to do this. They're all busy but they give their time and money to this. They have the same vision and same goals and want to make a difference in the community. It's a few people doing a lot of work.

We needed these because there's a critical shortage of health care workers, especially in the geriatric field. Those elderly people displaced have ended up in our nursing homes. This is a critical, critical need that we have.

In addition to balancing work and family, women need to think about their own health and their own well-being.

The cool thing is that people have been so responsive to my work on stage that I've actually had to turn things down. I have so many things I want to do, from flying an airplane to writing a symphony, and doing motivational speaking to groups of teenagers. Making records is now only one part of a great big picture in my life.

Right now there is an influx of people coming in right after work and that is a hard situation to avoid.
