We're going to start making 40,000 pounds a month for them. It's chili, cooked, meatballs and barbecue beef.

We'd get the cows in and milk before school every day, then we'd go to school, and get home that night after football practice or basketball practice and we'd milk the cows.

Down she came, 1,500 pounds of longhorn beef with a speckled red hide, 4 feet of horns and a majestically glowering look in her red-rimmed eyes.

Last winter we canned venison, spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, chili sauce, tomato soup, turkey, catsup, barbecue sauce, fish, sweet potatoes, duck, butternut squash, pumpkins and potatoes. You might say that whatever we find, we can. The entries will help out the competition at the fair and it will give the boys a little bit of income.

Things just came to me. It has been a tough month and hopefully this is the start of a better part of the season.
