Mike Bloomberg has had four years to make some changes, and New Yorkers haven't seen much besides skyrocketing rent prices, one out of two kids dropping out of school and a mayor whose idea of a five-borough economic development plan is building a stadium for a wealthy team owner.

This other New York, defined by a shrinking middle class and the expanding poverty of those at the bottom, this other New York cannot live on the platitudes and promises of a mayor who thinks the best argument for re-election is to buy a lot of television and radio time,
