We're interested in Lorain history. We wanted to update the society for the future and make people in the city more aware of us. We've become more involved in the community and have had a presence at all of the city's festivals.

We have good volunteers. Without the volunteers, the society wouldn't be what it is today.

We thought the Black River Historical Society was in charge of restoring the lighthouse. We joined the society and became more involved. One thing led to another.

At a time in human history when technology has the potential to profoundly affect people and society, I can't think of a more exciting place to be.

We want to take a break. I just want to take a vacation. Maybe it's time for new and fresh ideas. We'll remain active with the society, but we want to have less responsibility in the operations.

We live in such a cynical, postmodern society that if you are offended by something like this, people say, 'Lighten up, it's ironic, it's a joke.' And that's really nice if you're a student of art history. But how many 10-year-olds talk about irony? When you get teased, it doesn't make it any better to know that they're also calling it ironic. It sends the message that it's hip to make fun of Asians.
