We've known each other seven or eight years. We've always liked each other's music and liked each other personally.

I try to write every day, find a regular time to do it and it's gotten easier as I've gotten older. It goes back to 'the more you do it, the better you get at it,' and writing is incredibly receptive to that.

I think it's more about an independent songwriter scene. You form a family that finds each other when on the road. For me it's a round idea that most of us have a great part of our career in control. No one is signed to anything big.

It'll be six hours of live, local music. It'll be a really nice, family-friendly picnic in the park.

None of it mattered, because there was music.

Pushing your limits is what allows you to grow stronger, so if you find yourself feeling passive, it can make sense to dial it up a little. Get moving. Accomplish something small. Do something you enjoy. Embrace what moves you. And start again.
