We've noticed especially as a first-year fringe that local artists have a distinct advantage over the visiting artists. They show up if they're being told to show up by a friend. It is changing day by day.

What the fringe does is essentially function as a large-scale co-op.

This is like a shopping spree for local spaces and booking agents and arts administrators.

The idea of a fringe festival came along and it was a no-brainer, it seemed perfectly suited to our community and what we were trying to do.

For us artists there waits the joyous compromise through art with all that wounded or defeated us in daily life; in this way, not to evade destiny, as the ordinary people try to do, but to fulfil it in its true potential /the imagination.

We stepped up tonight. Our players know when to step up when the time comes.
