What I've been able to learn from her is what she's taught me about dealing with student athletes on a day-to-day basis. It's more along the lines of what it's really like being a coach, dealing with people every day, and treating those people with respect.

It's rewarding as coaches when you are able to see your athletes compete at the highest level. That's really what it's all about.

She has to look back on her career and appreciate what she's done.

The best word I can use to describe Jody is consistency. She expects a certain level of consistency in herself, and she's developed a system here where people coming in know what to expect from her and the program.

When I look at all these professional athletes when they are 50 or 45 years old, they have knees that don't work at all, shoulders that don't work, back problems, and I think that that's a much more common occurrence than a guy who is 40 or 50 who has serious problems because of some steroid he was taking when he was 20.

Try not to laugh when someone says these are the world's greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the games look like a GOP convention.
