What we did and who we were are just dregs compared to who we are now and how we act when the sword is coming down.

I can feel guilty about the past, apprehensive about the future, but only in the present can I act. The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness.

The idea of the past is as useless as the idea of the future. Both could be invoked by anybody about anything. There is never any more beauty than there is now. There is no more joy or sorrow or wonder than there is now, nor perfection, nor any more evil nor any more good than there is now.

There is no past, present, or future; there is only meow, right meow, and what you do with your one shot at life.

The world is not what is was or what you wish that it were or what it could have been. The world is not what it still might become. The world is none of these. The world is simply what it is, nothing more, nothing less.
