When I first started the invitational, I wanted it to be a place where kids could get together and just focus on music. It just gave us a chance to get to know other kids in the city and do something just for joy of doing it.

Hayden and I have stayed in touch all through high school and when he went to college. I have been connected to what he has been doing all along.

The music business has a lot of competition. Making music for the process of just making it is important.

That's a play you just don't see high school kids making. That's something you see in college and NBA.

I'm the son of a pediatrician, and I do believe that the most important resource we have is our kids. And I think the most important thing for America's future is to invest more in our children.

Our dad hugged us and kissed us so much that some friends and relatives complained that he was going to turn us into sissies or homosexuals. But my dad didn't care. Let them raise their kids in a reserved and reticent way. He grew up in Israel, and his boys were going to be hugged and kissed by their father and know they were loved.
