When I started, did not have any idea what it was to be model.

We may file, and we may not file. We have only said that Feb. 17 remains the earliest date when we would file.

That's not something you set out to do, or something you think about when you get started, but when you get to that level and achieve that, there is a certain pride that goes with that. As time goes by and you see how much has been accomplished, it's mind-boggling, but it's a validation for all the hard work of the kids, their families, and the coaches.

When you are isolated, you do not have an idea of what's going on in the world. This can be bad for your health.

When we started, we literally rolled wheelchairs on the ice. We had no idea it would become what it is today. I have two sons who play standup hockey. Watching these kids smile is just as rewarding as watching them.

I turned 40 when we started this project. Early on, it became a search for a role model for the aging process. If I'm lucky enough to live that long, I want to lead a life exactly like Franklin and all these others have lived.
