When I was really young, the women's national team wasn't on a grand media stage, so my role models were male basketball and male American football players.

It was appalling to me, when these players are supposed to be role models. It occurred to me that this is not what the taxpayers of California are supposed to be paying for.

When I started to play football, when I was around 15, 16, I remember the players that played on the national team and noticed that it was only typically Swedish guys.

My role models have kept on changing.

Airport is a strong, physical team. They have a lot of football players who play basketball, but they were the better team.

I think the best role models for women are people who are fruitfully and confidently themselves, who bring light into the world.
