When the bricks are engraved on site, the engraver has to clean the brick, then glue the stencil and wait for it to dry. Then he sandblasts the name and then he has to get the stencil up, clean the glue up and then clean up the mess from the sandblasting.

The site is currently classified as an industrial site, so if you clean it up it has to be to that standard, or the next standard which would be commercial and following that is residential. Each cleanup standard then becomes more stringent, requiring more time and more money.

Back when it rained in '55, they didn't have waterproof glue. Now we have waterproof glue.

When you do landscaping, it's really expensive to buy old bricks like this.
