When they look back on me I want 'em to remember me not for all my wives, although I've had a few, and certainly not for any mansions or high livin' money I made and spent. I want 'em to remember me simply for my music.

If you want to remember me, organize!

I don't want to tell people how to remember me. I want people to remember me as they remember me.

I want people to remember me as a guy who works hard.

I remember, years ago, if I had had an opportunity to leave the Lakers, I would have left for one reason: because I did not like an owner that was not telling me the truth. And it would have made no difference what they would have offered me; I would have left.

It doesn't matter who they put in front of me, I just want people to remember me.
