When we live in a constant state of denial, we force others to be brutally honest with us, problem is we can't handle the truth.

When we face the truth about ourselves, we have the opportunity to make the changes necessary to improve where we are lacking and polish the areas that are a bit dull. However, when we choose to live in denial, we can never achieve our full potential, because we don't even realize that we are living in mediocrity, and in most cases the people that care enough to be honest with us is the ones we avoid.
