When we met as a team he wanted to know what was on our minds. He realizes we have a great program and wants to lead us to a higher level.

When you're this far away, winning makes up a lot. Winning makes homesickness not that bad.

When I met with the team I told them this is not a step back or even a step sideways – this is a step forward for the program. Naturally I've modeled a lot of my style from Coach Brose because I am a product of this system. I'm excited to see what we can do and see how the girls respond. I think we all have that competitive fire and I'm anxious to see what we can do with it.

Everyone on our entire team made comments about how calm things were on the pit box. Everyone realizes now maybe that's where we've gone wrong in the past. We've been too aggressive and too uptight. The patience paid off, and if we can carry that lesson through the season, we'll be shooting for a championship.

When he had a scene, we would stand like a set away and watch, and we were just cracking up. He would just sit funny. And stand funny. He was just so funny in everything he did.
