When Wily Mo sees the ball well, he makes good decisions as far as balls and strikes. Wily works at it. He wants to get better.

But if he's able to consistently wait on the ball and see it a little longer and have a shorter stroke to the ball, the strikeouts can be cut down without losing his great power.

I felt like we swung at a lot of balls and took a lot of strikes. Tonight, he struck out three in the first but after that we made that adjustment, where we swung at the strikes and took the balls, and obviously it made a big difference.

He's thrown strikes when he's pitched. He's shown a good breaking ball, which we knew he had.

He throws four pitches for strikes, he keeps the ball down, gets a lot of ground balls and he's a strikeout pitcher. He's got a lot of innings pitched in the minor leagues and ... he has developed the consistency that's needed to pitch at this level. We feel it's important he get his feet on the ground up here (in St. Louis) for the time in the future when he's a starter.

Jamie has some good foot speed. When she sees the gap, she can take the ball strong to the hole.
