When you are down and out something always turns up - and it is usually the noses of your friends

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation that you ever had.

I have friends who definitely sort of turn up their noses at what they consider to be the hokiness of this show, ... But when you meet these people coming off buses and planes, you can't help feeling good about who they are and where they're from. ... Are we going to bring them in and make fun of them?
