When you put your name on a fund, there's a certain element of pride, of not wanting to be embarrassed or neglectful. . . . It forces you to want to work just a little harder to be right.

What a great bunch. They wore the Lady Monarch uniform with pride. They carried on the fine tradition. I know its hurts right now, but when they reflect and look back on what they've accomplished, it's really matched by very few teams.

Anybody who owned General Motors for the dividend had to recognize there was a high probability the dividend would be cut. The important thing at General Motors is not the dividend. The important thing is they make money again.

It's a new day dawning for the railroads.

Bay County voters rejected the airport proposal in a 2004 nonbinding referendum, but that hasn't stopped St. Joe or the state from pursuing this boondoggle. This is neither the time nor the place to build a destructive new airport as corporate welfare. We already have an underutilized airport that can serve the region well into the future when we will know much more about the troubled aviation industry, the realistic prospects for another airport, and the true environmental and financial cost.

We would like them to be more constrained, more enlightened. There's nothing to prevent them from doing the right thing.
