When you start playing music when you're quite young, it's easy to stay young. And then you're touring, and you see people who've been on the road for 10 or 15 years and they just haven't grown up at all.

We started really well. Playing on the road isn't easy and getting a good start is so important and we really did a good job early on. We didn't maintain the intensity, but after a start like that, it is tough to keep up that level.

Touring is a young man's game, but after 30 years of it, I want to stay home.

It's quite easy to start Trials riding. You just need a bike and you're set.

For your songs to connect with people, they've got to mean something to you.

I went on Ellen once, and even then, I was just a bad performer. It was nerve-racking at first playing in front of all her fans who really wanted to see her. Her fans are so young and accepting to new people, and it helped that they knew 'Marvin Gaye,' too.
