When you're in a district that's still short hundreds of teachers, I'll take 17 new ones any day,

Crestline teachers don't want to strike. We want to be in our classrooms, working with our students. That's where my heart is, with the kids. We've dedicated our careers to educating Crestline's children, and walking a picket line is not how many of us want to start the school year.

I got to Tucson on the 6th and had a full schedule of classes that same day. The teachers were all willing to work with me and have been good about taking my situation into consideration.

The best teachers have shown me that things have to be done bit by bit. Nothing that means anything happens quickly – we only think it does.

This is great. The teachers are great. I've met with all of them over the summer. The kids are great. I've met with the student council. It should be a lot of fun.

I come from a long line of teachers. Not only did I not go into the family business; I had an aborted law career and I played in bands. 'Disco Pigs' was my first professional acting experience.
