With the release of the 3.2 requirement specification, CGL presents a mature and stable platform definition that builds on strong global deployment from earlier versions. Changes and additions moving forward, as such, will be evolutionary.

All new technologies go through the same hassles before they are mature and stable.

But the most significant and new aspect of this release is that vendors and distributors can officially register with CGL 3.2 and publicly disclose how they meet each of the CGL requirements and demonstrate the suitability for carrier grade platforms.

Maturity is always inherited from Stability but not the other way around.
