Yes, there is some dissent and clearly we understand the feelings but we feel it is a minority,

May we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion

If the injustice is part of the necessary friction of the machine of government, let it go, let it go: perchance it will wear smooth--certainly the machine will wear out… but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter-friction to stop the machine. What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condemn.

It's much to-do about nothing. When was the last time you saw several folks in the minority pass a law that (reverses one) the majority already passed? The legislators in that area are doing a disservice to their own constituents.

A free society cherishes nonconformity. It knows that from the non-conformist, from the eccentric, have come many of the great ideas of freedom. Free society must fertilize the soil in which non-conformity and dissent and individualism can grow.

In a democracy, dissent is an act of faith.
