You give a regular Yankees lineup those opportunities and you're gonna get your brains beat out. You're supposed to give a team 27 outs, and we give them 31 or 32. I'll talk about that (today).

Brazil's (lineup) is like the Yankees' Murderers' Row.

I got to pitch. I just didn't have very many opportunities [for the Yankees], and a lot of opportunities in the first half were just one hitter, ... I'm not laying blame or anything like that. That's a simple fact. I got to go out there on a consistent basis and I felt like I pitched OK.

Our pitches got very tentative. You can't get tentative against a lineup like the Yankees. We threw ball one, ball two.

That's a good lineup over there. At 1-0, you really don't think a solo shot is going to beat you. But it was enough tonight. All four of their pitchers pitched great, kept us down and never gave us any air to get any runs.

There was no pressure on me. I was 9-10 (during the season). Who expected me to beat the Yankees twice?
