You have to give yourself credit, not too much because that would be bragging.

He didn’t at all see why the busy bee should be proposed as a model to him; he supposed the Bee liked to make honey, or he wouldn’t do it — nobody asked him. It was not necessary for the bee to make such a merit of his tastes.

If you have to boast about what you do for a living to attract attention, attraction or approval, then you’re seeking the wrong kind of people for it has nothing to do with who you are and everything to do with what you do. Is that the kind of people you want? The ones who are more attracted to your status than you?

Gratitude is a powerful trait.

I wouldn't refuse stardom, recognition, acclaim. I had no axe to grind either way... I wasn't wishing I was somewhere else, somebody else, richer or more famous. I was happy and secure with who I was, what I was and where I was. I didn't have to have what they all had.

Regardless of what decision is ultimately made regarding the school, we realize there is merit in holding onto that site. One day a new elementary could be located there.
