You know, without China there is no Wal-Mart and without Wal-Mart there is no middle class and lower class prosperity in the United States.

Elm Street was the dividing line between the two worlds. On either side of this line there were families who had trouble making both ends meet, but those who lived below the intersection didn't bother to conceal it.

They cannot divide us by saying that you're middle class or you're lower class.

I want to lower taxes for the middle class.

I don't think it's a fait accompli that it's going to make the middle class poor in the United States. But I do think it's a useful warning that this is going to be tough for a large swath of workers in the United States, if managed poorly.

Unions did in fact build the middle class. And here's what that did. That built the United States of America as we know it.
