You look back at all the things that could have been done to avoid it and it is embarrassing. I realized that I just didn't work hard enough. Now, I look forward to being able to finish and be the first in my family with a college degree.

There were a lot of different things. The choir was a good addition. It's nice to get a little gospel here and there.

He's harder on me than anybody else. If I'm not doing something right, he tells me and takes it personally. Having him around has really been a blessing and I'm thankful to have him in my corner.

I had to find different things to do with myself that first year. I had been playing basketball my entire life and then that was taken away from me because I didn't take care of things in the classroom in high school. Sitting out, made me realize how much basketball meant to me.

By interviewing at least one veteran, you can preserve memories that otherwise might be lost. My uncle was a downed fighter pilot and P.O.W. in World War II, and I am looking forward to recording his story for inclusion in the project.
