Your loyalty is more naturally to your teammates and coaches. If you've been around a few years like me, you develop a bond with the city and the whole concept of a franchise. But that's hard for a lot of guys to do these days.

[Microsoft has] built loyalty at the end-user level, including upper management, ... That works for a while in the early stages of a product, but after a couple of years the blush fades from the rose. It's reality versus marketing.

As a player, you understand fans have a loyalty to the team, but I?m still the guy you liked two years ago. I?m just on a different team. I can understand not liking my team, but you liked me then, so why can?t you like me now? That?s why I?m a player, not a fan.

Only dogs know and respect their masters. This is a rare characteristic of men who secretly envy their masters and wish their downfall.

It's hard. But, as I told our guys, North Carolina doesn't pay the bills, and I have a strong loyalty to these guys that we recruited and coached. These guys have worked their tails off.

I've told our guys (at George Mason) that I have a lot of loyalty to you. I'm going to give everything I've got to them.
