Al Gore, unlike George Bush, is not afraid to disagree with his friends.

Bush campaign aides are taking political spin to a new level. Yesterday, they had to invent phone calls to put some substances behind their candidate's performance on Oprah.

Any argument that he comes up with that we are not dedicating the resources needed for our military men and women is just talk, pure rhetoric.

I would say to those people, there's going to be one of two people who win this election. It's either Al Gore or George Bush, and only Al Gore will fight to protect a woman's right to choose, fight for the environment, fight against big pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies.

The fact is Gov. Bush's plan would leave the Social Security Commission only two choices: insolvency in 2023 or a 50% cut in guaranteed benefits.

These things are usually just a laundry list. Whether it was Clinton or Bush, it's mostly just what's on his mind. But this was a more modest list, even than some of his own past State of the Union addresses.
