At night, the parents came to the Colonial museum to hear the students presentations. It was quite a culmination of our Colonial unit. I loved seeing their enthusiasm and excitement about their presentations. They were just bubbling over with excitement and pride.

The students took on the identity with a name, clothing and characteristics of this Colonial figure. They were surprised at how much information they really learned about the era and how much they enjoyed presenting to the other classes. They dressed, spoke and presented their reports as if they were living in the Colonial times.

Then the students picked an individual occupation and gave a presentation to other classes and guests in our Living Museum, and the students presented what they did as if they were that person.

We had to transfer students. We have to look at it district-wide.

This is about students showing what they know and can do. They need to want to do their best, but we don't want them to be overly stressed.

It's good because the parents and visitors get to come and talk about what they do to the students, and the students feel good because a lot of them know who the presenters are. Everyone has a good feeling.
