Back in high school, I really wanted to be a diesel mechanic. I was building pools and it was still working with my hands. I was installing the (reinforcement) bars, shaping the pools and then they'd bring the cement in. It was great. . . . Then I had my accident.

I would look at all the student's records, discuss the record with administration at the school, and then I make a decision on what I think is best for the student and the district, ... You don't have a cookie cutter that you can use when you're on a case-by-case basis. You have to trust that my professional judgment would be what's for the best for the district and the kid.

You go to a high school meet and it's sparsely populated, but here it's packed on both sides.

I'm sad that school is starting again. I go to college so I have to go to school too,

Everyone is getting more accustomed to it, ... We might get more complaints when school starts.

Local elected school boards should be making the decision.
