Family programs tend to be the ones the green-eyeshade people go after first.

I hope, that in the end, we acknowledge that we should be advisers, mentors, teachers (and) coaches. And when it comes to family and individual decisions, not be the all-knowing father figure of the past. We must care about them; care about them passionately. We must care about them, not for them.

It is mostly art; not so much science. It is, above all, influencing human behavior.

My father taught geography and a popular class called Family Living, the precursor to Sociology, which he eventually taught. My grandmother was a beloved one-room school teacher at Knob School, near Sonora in Larue County, Ky.
