Hopefully, the children and their parents will realize that the whole community is serious about having the children in school.

Our meeting was well attended by faculty, staff and parents of the children in our community that entertained prior to the meeting, but everyone stayed during the meeting. We were glad to see everyone and we would love to see such large attendance in the future.

No ordinance can protect the children of our community 100 percent. The ordinance is just one tool available. Parents still need to know where their kids are and what they're up to.

We're concerned about children that reside in this area -- them getting connected with their parents after school.

This is very vital. We need to get our children back and forth to school. This is a community that walks, believe it or not, and we need to make those sidewalks safe.

It's a no-lose situation for the children, the parents and the community. That's wonderful. It's money well spent.
