I didn't even breathe on the final lap. That's how close it was. I knew if I had breathed, (St. Joseph) was going to have a great chance to win the race. I had to keep motoring.

And when I breathed, my breath was lightning.

I had a lap time in my head so I knew what I had to get done.

I knew that I could win in the last lap, with about a half-lap left. I knew I had better finishing speed, so I was not demoralized to see her taking the lead. I wasn't feeling very well. I had some stitches, and that was the reason (for letting her hold the lead). I won with God's will, and it was very hard...I hope to take many more medals in cross country.

The bike's working well and we're able to put in good consistent lap times. My final position should've been higher but I lost some time when I came across another rider. Nothing is decided until superpole but it will be important to get a good position as this is a difficult circuit to overtake on.

On the previous lap, I knew we were 15.6 seconds behind. I knew there was no way (Dixon) could come in, stop, get gas and get out ahead of us. It was impossible.
